What is Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage?

Post-Op massage is a gentle form of massage that increases blood flow and promotes recovery by targeting the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system helps process waste and absorbs fluids. After surgery, these fluids can harden, which is often painful. This is an all-inclusive service that includes MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage), aesthetic lymphatic drainage techniques and body contouring as you move further along in your recovery.  Fibrosis Treatment is also included if necessary.

MLD is a sequence of gentle massage strokes which helps to stimulate the flow of fluid (lymph) throughout the lymphatic system. Facilitating the flow of fluids helps remove toxins from the body. These massages also help prevents swelling, discomfort, bloating, pain, and, most importantly, fibrosis progression. This technique is usually delivered over a 1-hour session and produces the best results when initiated 1-2 days post-op (depending upon the procedure) if your doctor approves it. Optimal results come from multiple sessions that will vary from client to client.
